Music Department Policies and Proceedures

  1. Each team member will adhere to the qualifications set out in the Worship Ministry Covenant and Vision.

  2. Team member adherance to qualifications will be reviewed and renewed each year.

  3. Each team member will be required to attend every team practice (usually held twice a month and usually lasting one hour) for the main purpose of learning new songs. On the month they are singing, they may be required to stay an additional hour for practice with the band.

  4. In the event a member is to be absent from practice, they must inform the Music Department Assistant immediately.

  5. If work or other important matters prevent a team member from attending a practice, they must contact the Worship Leader to see when make-up practices are available. Otherwise, they may arrive to sing and not know the songs. Also, this makes it fair to those members who come to the practices and have worked hard to learn the songs.

  6. In the event a team member is be absent from a worship session or performance, it is their responsibility to get a replacement for themselves from within the teams and then notify the Worship Leader of the situation. This includes sudden illnesses on Sunday mornings. Phone numbers of other team members can be obtained from the department Assistant or Worship Leader.

  7. During the month the team member is singing, they are to arrive at the church at 7:45 a.m. to prepare for mic checks. Practice begins at 8:00. At that time all mics and instruments should be ready to go.

  8. There are refreshments for team members who are singing that month and their children in between the 9:00 and 11:00 services at the Youth Center. Also, team members are free to go for breakfast after offering is over in the 9:00 service, returning well before 11:00, but must stay for at least one complete service. If they stay for the early service, they are free to leave after offering is over in the 11:00 service.
